Demeber News letter

This is your final notice! Your 2011 dues are due by December 31st. Anything received after that date will be returned and assessed a late fee. If your dog ate the return envelope that was sent two months ago, return your dues in the amount of $35.00 to:

Ronald J. Fabrizio
PO Box 4529
New Windsor, NY 12553

Also under the final notice category, remember to return your ballots for the International election.

International Website

When you go to the Blue Knights International web page, in the upper right corner you will see two buttons. One will have ‘Members Only’ the other will have ‘Forum’. When you click on either of these, you will be brought to a ‘sign in’ page. The User name is your Blue Knights membership ID number. The Password is you last name in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. I mention this as some members have asked how to access this section of the website and there is a bunch of information there.

Thank You!

Thanks go out to our own Carl Raymo and Ron Fabrizio who along with Ed Cutinello, Pres NY II, Thor Johnson, Pres NY XXX, Nick Tritto, Pres NY XXI and Paul Grutzer of NY XXI recently attended and provided an escort at the funeral of Blue Knight Rich Mazzacone in Beacon. NY.

Motorcycle Show

The International Motorcycle Show will be held at the Javits Center January 21st – 23rd . Hours on Friday are 12-9, Saturday, 9-9 and Sunday, 9-5

Newsletters

As has been written here since October, this is the last hard copy newsletter that you will receive. Some of you are already receiving this newsletter via email as well as the USPS. I have asked for three months that if any member does not have access to the Internet (you don’t have a computer) to contact me at the phone number at the end of the newsletter so we can accommodate you and make sure that you receive the Chapter news. To date, I have received one phone call. The Chapter is looking to reduce mailing costs associated with these monthly mass mailings.

Speaking of the World Wide Web

Our Chapter web page is getting bigger and better all the time. The most current 2011 TSC ride schedule is posted and will be updated as necessary. Lots of Blue Knights gear available and contact information for Chapter officers. These newsletters are posted as well as archived copies of past newsletters. Take a look at it.

On the Facebook side at Blue Knights New York XIV, we have 16 people who ‘like’ us and our Yahoo Group is still up and running. The avenues for information dissemination are available; you just have to look at it.

Next Meeting

Our next regular meeting will be held on January 20th at the VFW in Walden at 7:00 P.M. Come on down!

Condolences

To Chapter member Andre Varin and his wife on the recent passing of his wife’s mother. Our prayers are with you.

Spring President’s Meeting

It’s going to be May 7th at the Ramada Inn in Newburgh. It would be great to have a showing of NY XIV members. No physical work involved. Mark the date and let me know if you’re coming. You will be needed on Friday afternoon/evening when other members/guests arrive and on Saturday. Look for the flyer on our web site in the next few days.

TSC Fall Convention or Do You Hear Wedding Bells?

This will be hosted by NY XVIII on October 7th – October 10th at the Comfort Inn & Suites & Regency Ballroom. I have registration forms if you are interested. You must pre-register as there are no walk-ins. You can register for the entire weekend or just for one day. The Saturday Dinner per person price is $50. The Friday Hospitality Room is $20 per person. Contact a board member for more information and registration forms. What do you get for your dinner fee other than dinner? You get to witness our own Carl Raymo and Maggie Martinez join together in matrimony. A Blue Knight wedding!

Vests

At the International meeting in Montana this past July, an alternate dark blue colored vest was approved. I have heard this dark blue described as an eggplant color. The light blue vest is still the approved color and you are urged to wear it. The eggplant is an alternative. I will provide you with details and availability in the near future. The reasoning behind this is for recruitment purposes. It’s felt that additional younger members would join us if presented with an alternate color vest. I wonder how that would go over in boot camp.
‘Excuse me, Senior Chief. I really don’t like this Navy Blue color and the ‘V’ neck is just so repulsive. Could I go with a dark grey instead?’

TSC Newsletter

Those of you on the email list will also be receiving the Tri-State Conference newsletter. I can’t urge you enough to update your email address with the chapter. I have 26 good email addresses on our roster. The following members have an email address but it’s either old, closed or bad. McGovern,Navarro,Sairino, Kippel, Sanchez and Sikos.

As of right now, the web site is updated including the President’s meeting flyer posted under ‘Special Dates’.

Finally

A belated Happy Hanukkah to our Jewish members and friends and best wishes for a very merry and blessed Christmas and a New Year of hope, happiness and health and please don’t forget our men and women in uniform serving around the world.

Ride With Pride
