Blue Knights New York Chapter XIV

November 2010

Have you sent in your 2011 dues yet? Dues notices were sent out with the last newsletter, any questions use the contact information at the end of this newsletter.

You should have received the Blue Knights International election ballots by now. Attached is information received from Guy Cook, the TSC Secretary:

To all Members and Chapter Contacts,
The International Election Ballots have been mailed from the International Office. If you have not received them yet, you will very soon. Please don't throw them away or let them languish on your desk. Please cast your vote and mail them out today. The BLUE KNIGHTS Members running for office are clearly printed on the ballot. Please X or P your candidate of choice. If you do not have a preferred candidate for the election, please consider the recommended candidates that your Tristate Conference Presidents and TSC Executive Board have endorsed. They are: Dave Mulford for Intn'l President, Pat Fox for Int'l Vice President and Russ Harper for Int'l Treasurer. The Intn'l Secretary's position is uncontested. You are not being told who to vote for, all we want you to do is vote. Please exercise your right to vote and help to control the destiny of our great organization. If you don't know the qualifications of the candidates for office, please contact your Chapter President. Your TSC Board will also try to answer any questions you may have. You can contact us at Cal Ennals bktscsec@comcast.net. Gus Faella gj5298@comcast.net, Guy Cook ultra02@frontiernet.net, Carl Raymo c.raymo@yahoo.com, Jimmy Schneider bkny10@aol.com, Tony Morgano Norton71@ptd.net, Rick Vobis bknyxxv@yahoo.com, Keith Bowers, kebowers@hotmail.com. All BLUE KNIGHTS elections are important (including the Chapter and TSC Elections). Please help to control the destiny of our great BLUE KNIGHTS Law Enforcement Organization. "Vote, don't choke." Make your voice heard by marking your ballot heard. Come on Guys and Gals, lets be the BLUE KNIGHTS Conference that leads the way by having a 100% voter return. Lets be the conference that makes the determining vote as to who will be voted into office. Vote now and encourage your Brother and Sister BLUE KNIGHTS to vote too.
"Ride with Pride"

Guy Cook
Tristate Conference Secretary

Make your selection on the official ballot and place it in the return envelope that was enclosed and seal. Place a stamp and mail it! If you don’t want to go for a stamp, contact a BKNY XIV Board member and we will make arrangements to get your sealed envelope and mail it for you. Does it get any easier than that?!?

The return envelope should have been pre addressed, for some reason, mine wasn’t. If you do not have a pre addressed return envelope, send your ballot to:

P.O. Box 3878

License Plates

If you have a Blue Knights license plate on your motorcycle or automobile, your membership has to be current to keep those plates. If you have one of these plates, use the contact info at the end of newsletter.

New Hires:

Congratulations to Sal Marazita on his election to Director in Blue Knights NY XIV.

Rick Vobis from BK NY XXV is the new TSC state rep for New York.

Our own Carl Raymo is now the TSC Treasurer.

Where Are You?

In the last newsletter, I asked that you send me an email to update the contact list that we have. I gave you my email address and my phone number. To date, I have heard from two members. In an effort to reduce costs, December will be the last hard copy newsletter you will receive (with the exception of those members I personally spoke with). After December 2010, the newsletters will be emailed and also available online at the Chapter website www.blueknightsnyxiv.com

In addition to the website, we have the BKNY14 Yahoo Group and we are also now on Facebook; search for us there at Blue Knights New York XIV and be our friend.

Our next regular meeting will be on December 16th at the VFW in Walden at 1900 hrs. If the weather looks questionable, call the VFW at (845) 778-5622 after 1730 hrs for an update.

Speaking of the VFW
The VFW is going through some rough times. They have been a friend to our Chapter and they need help. There is presently no heat in the building and it is costing them $6000. to repair the boiler. They are having some fundraisers coming up. The first one is in two days so only those of you receiving this by email will get the message in a timely manner:

1. Sat. November 20th, Roast Pork Dinner, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, $8.00 per person
2. Sunday, December 5th Breakfast with Santa. Scrambled eggs, French Toast, Sausage etc. $7.00 per person. Pictures with Santa also. Proceeds from this function will go to Cures for Cancer.
If you feel like you want to do something else for the VFW, their address is: 4 Oak St, Walden, NY 12586-1221

Wishing you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Paul Lang
