Upcoming Rides

This Sunday, the 18th is the C.O.T.A. ride down in Mt. Vernon. We are leaving from the Monroe Diner at 0800 hrs. We will ride to Mt Vernon and then will have an escorted ride up to the Elks Lodge in Brewster. NY XII does a great job with this run.

We have the Bikers for Babies ride on 10/2. This is the ride that we agreed to help out our brothers in NY XXX. All day event, starts at Dutchess Stadium. Exact time and details to follow.

The Leukemia Lymphoma Society will have their ‘Light the Night’ walk in Goshen on 10/15. Again, we agreed to work this worthy cause, providing security. Thank you John Lord for answering the call! We have at least three other members in line to work this event which will be from 1600 hours until about 2030 hours. It gets the name of Blue Knights XIV out there. We will meet at 1600 hrs but in light of the Government Center being closed, I’m waiting for a new meeting location.

It’s Almost That Time

During the second week of October, the International will be sending out membership renewal packages. You will be getting your renewal package in the mail with the October newsletter.

October Meeting

The October meeting will be on October 20th, either before the Thursday Ride at 1700 hrs if the weather holds up or at 1900 hrs at the VFW in Walden. Nominations for officers will be open. Come on down and get involved. Great pay and travel to exotic places can be yours!

Experienced Rider Course

We had eight riders take the course on a warm, sunny Friday. It involved

almost six hours of riding through various challenges on the range and everyone came away with some good practice. Charter Member Ed Shafer, who is reported to have trained both Harley & Davidson to ride motorcycles was in attendance and came away with a positive experience. All of the bikes stayed rubber side down all day long; and that’s a good thing.

Chapter XIV By-Laws

The proposed changes to the By-Laws will be reviewed by the International for approval.

Frost on the Pumpkin
